2015 | Farideh Seddon

What a successful trip we have had.

I have just returned from a wonderful 15 days in Iran. Flying into Tabriz in the North, five of us travelled over 2000 km via Zanjan, Tehran, Kashan, Isfahan and Yazd, to Shiraz in the South. Guided by a hugely experienced Iranian guide, all detailed were carefully taken care of, comfortable hotels secured, our expectations managed, our safety accounted for and our itinerary perfectly enhanced according to local knowledge to afford us entrance to sites and areas often closed or inaccessible to the average tourist.

The Iranian people were overwhelmingly friendly and hospitable and not once on the entire trip did I feel unsafe. Our minibus was clean, roomy and comfortable and our driver was a gem.

Iran is an incredible country, with wonderful light, an ever-changing landscape and a wealth of archaeological and historical sites. Whilst not quite yet upto 5* European standards of tourism, the willingness of the people to assist, more than compensates. Get there before it changes !
